I am a single mom and have raised three children on my own. I am a proud grandmother of ten. I was born and raised in Long Island New York, and became a Georgian in 2000. People often ask me where my name is originally from and I will tell them, it comes from my great-great-grandfather Jean Jacques Desvignes of 1773 following my-grandfather Emile (Joseph Bazile Jr.) Desvignes who, was born (in 1883) in France, and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana!
I am currently a part-time business owner who founded a Property Management Leasing and Management training company. I started the company to help members of the community with Job Training and awareness of getting jobs after completing training and becoming a leasing and property manager.
I had the opportunity to volunteer for my mother Valerie Desvignes's after-school Modeling Program in 2011 at Osborne High School located in Marietta, Georgia. My mother's Modeling program was approved in 2013. The program was a success until my mother Valerie Desvignes passed in May of 2013 from Breast Cancer. I enjoyed working with the teen youth at Osborne High School, and teaching them how to walk with confidence by focusing on their grades, always respecting their teachers and parents, and helping them become future leaders of our community. I also volunteered for Hosea Feed the Hungry, East Cobb United Methodist Church to help Cobb Must Ministries paint one of the homes, for the homeless people in Marietta, Georgia.
In pursuit of my dream of holding public office. I have earned certificates in the following: White House Policy Briefing (2019), Community Activists, Future Candidate, Capitol Hill, Fundraising, Management 101 (2023) Training, Public Speaking, Debate Workshop, and Election Integrity, GOTV Election Day and Speech Writing Training. I am still pursuing more political training.
Running for office in 2022 was a challenge. I ran as a Republican candidate but, I realized my passion for civil rights led me to decide to run as a Democratic candidate.
It's my civic responsibility to ensure the civil rights of our community are protected: in voting, housing, workplaces, and when simply driving down the road!
